Levi: Month 1

Happy 1 Month Levi Shane!
At 1 month, Levi:
  • stays awake for long stretches of time and for most of the day...while up, he is very alert (we're guessing he has to be to keep up with the craziness that is his two brothers)
  • a very hungry guy!  Levi eats like a champ, every 3 hours like clockwork (bug...if you want to start stretching those sessions out overnight, mom and dad would be very grateful)
  • recognizes mom and dad's voices and turns towards them when he hears them
  • tracks things with his eyes
  • has rolled over a few times
  • has pretty good head control...it won't be long until he's able to hold it up himself!
  • is a very welcome addition to our family...we love you little guy and are glad you're here with us!

February 3, 2012

Colton and Levi were lucky enough to spend a fun Friday at the Children's Museum today.  Colton enjoyed it a bit more than Levi (who slept through most of the visit), especially the bubbles and trains which he has been talking about since we left.  After the museum, the boys joined Colton's friend Landon (who was also at the museum) for lunch before coming home for naps.  After naptime, they went for a run with mom and then headed to Wild Wing with mom and dad.  They happened to run into their grandparents while there, so go to join them for dinner too.

February 2, 2012

Colton began his day at school, while Mom and Levi were hard at work at home.  Once they picked him up, they all stopped by the grocery store before heading home for the afternoon.  At home, both boys were anxious to practice their new skills: Levi holding his head up (Colton is very good at showing his little brother how to do it) and jumping for Colton.

February 1, 2012

After spending some time in bed while mom was getting ready, Colton and Levi headed off to meet Meme (or Nene as Colton now affectionately calls her) so mom could go to her final doctor's appointment.  After she picked them up, everyone took advantage of the awesome weather and took a trip to Bayville Park where Colton loved running from thing to thing.  The boys returned home to take naps (miraculously at the same time for a bit) and then were surprised with a visit from Aunt Genna.  Then they capped off their evening with  dinner and Sesame Street as usual.

January 30-31, 2012

The boys have been busy taking advantage of this awesome weather in Va. Beach.  On Monday, they spent the morning running a couple errands with mom, including getting themselves some new clothes (!), before coming home to go on a walk/run.  They then spent their night with dad who was kind enough to watch them so mom could go have a ladies' night with Aunt Genna and some friends.  Today, Colton went off to school (where they said he had a really good day), while mom and Levi took care of some stuff around the house.  When Colton got home, everyone enjoyed some outdoor play time before naps.  After the naps, Colton and Levi went to Mt. Trashmore for another walk/run with mom followed by some play time for Colton.  After dinner, the boys took their first bath together...as you can tell from the picture, Colton enjoyed it a little more than Levi did!

January 28-29, 2012

Luckily everyone woke up Saturday to find that dad had recovered from his illness the night before.  The family still took it pretty easy through Saturday morning though to make sure he was 100%, but once it was determined that he was, the boys were excited to go to the ODU basketball game (Levi's first!).  After the game, they joined their aunts and uncles and the Moorheads for dinner at AW Shucks.
On Sunday, Levi and Colton joined mom and dad for some car shopping.  Colton loved running through the lot, touching all the cars, pointing out their doors, and saying "vroom" over and over again!  After some naps, the family met Meme and Papa for dinner at Zia Maries.

January 27, 2012

Wow!  What a busy day for the boys!  It started off with a trip to the JCC for Colton's preschool Open House...Levi accompanied mom to the talk/tour while Colton spent his morning in the babysitting room.  Once that was done, everyone took Chipper to the groomer for his haircut (Colton repeatedly pointed out all the dogs for us) before heading to the Bounce House to meet Quiana and Patrick for some playtime.  And if that wasn't enough, they made a stop at Panera for some lunch before heading home for naps.  At night, they joined Aunt Genna and Jimmy for dinner at Wild Wing (dad was home sick).
