Year 2, Day 156

Colton had an awesome day today.  After a quick trip to the JCC, he met mom's friend Katie and his friend Savannah (Katie's daughter) at the Botanical Gardens for some splash time.  Colton seemed to be more interested in exploring today than splashing, but enjoyed himself nonetheless.  Hungry after all that fun, he went to PF Changs with everyone for lunch.  After taking a nice long nap, he woke up just in time to join mom and dad for some Mexican for dinner.

Year 2, Day 155

Colton's first art project!

Today was Colton's big first day of school!  He seemed to LOVE it...as in, he didn't notice mom was even gone and didn't necessarily seem very excited to see her when she picked him up.  Mom's friend Mary was with her, so Colton joined the ladies for a celebratory lunch before going back home for his nap.  At night, he had a nice dinner with mom and dad and then took a family walk around the block.

Year 2, Day 154

Colton had his big meet-the-teacher, Open House at his new preschool today.  He was so excited to be there and really loved the toys, and especially the slide, in his classroom.  Hopefully, that excitement will carry over tomorrow when he has his first day.  Dad was even able to take off work and come with us, so he could see Colton in his school.  After meeting his teacher and new friends, he ran some errands with mom before coming home for the rest of the day.  

Year 2, Day 153

Colton was so excited to get out of the house today that he headed out first thing this morning for breakfast at the Broken Egg.  After running a couple of errands, he came back home to help mom clean up the yard which proved to be quite the job!  After taking his nap, he was happy to wake up and find the Steelers game was on tv from last night, so he watched that and then joined mom and dad for dinner at California Pizza Kitchen.  

Year 2, Day 152

Well, Colton spent his day riding out Hurricane Irene.  Needless to say, he didn't leave the house, but was actually pretty entertained by his toys, books, and company throughout the day.  Luckily, we didn't lose power either, which made the day much more bearable.  Hopefully, we will wake up to clear skies tomorrow and be able to get out of this house!

Year 2, Day 151

Colton spent his day before the storm taking care of some very important arrangements.  He helped mom make an eclair cake, got his hair cut, got some new shoes, and then went over to Uncle Ryan and Aunt KC's house for the fantasy football draft party.  We're hoping Colton's blog will be up and running through the storm, but if not, we'll be back as soon as possible!

Year 2, Day 150

Colton and mom were stuck at home today waiting for his birth certificate to arrive, so they spent the day having "art day."  Mom bought Colton some sidewalk chalk and made him some Kool-Aid playdough and pudding finger paint (which he clearly enjoyed eating more than painting with), and they had some fun!  At night, he went over to grandma and grandpa's house for Aunt Stephanie's birthday cookout.

Year 2, Day 149

After his morning trip to the JCC, Colton was off to run some errands with mom.  While at AC Moore not only did he run into Aunt Patty, but he also picked up a cool new sprinkler toy that he was eager to get home and test out.  Colton enjoyed his toy (although he seemed to like it more in the box), and like most of our other play sessions, this one turned into a little photo session (the cutest one is at the end so make sure you scroll through).  After playing and taking pictures, it was nap time and then time for some more playing and dinner with mom and dad.  

Year 2, Day 148

Well, today turned out to be a big one for Colton...he survived his first (and probably only) earthquake.  Truthfully, he slept through the whole thing after spending a morning playing in the pool with mom, Meme, and Aunt Genna.  After he woke back up, he enjoyed some play time with mom until dad got home and it was time for family dinner.

Year 2, Days 146 and 147

Colton spent  his last couple of days busy, busy.  Yesterday, he ran errands with mom and dad in the morning (they were busy looking for a bookbag for him because he starts preschool next week!).  After his nap, he went down to check out Aunt Genna's apartment and get some dinner with her.  Today, he hit the JCC first thing in the morning before spending some time with Meme while mom was at her doctor's appointment.  After the appointment, he met one of his friends at the park for some playtime.  At night, he joined mom and dad for dinner at the Outback.

Year 2, Day 145

After sleeping in a bit, Colton started off his day with a trip to Target. Once he was done there, he was off to join Meme, Papa, and Aunt Genna (and mom of course) for some beach time.  After coming home to take an afternoon nap and relax for a bit, he joined mom and dad for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

Year 2, Day 144

All this going and going must have finally worn out our little man.  Although Colton woke up bright and early today (as in 6:30AM), he took two good naps for the first time all summer!  In between his naps, he went to the JCC to drop off some extra cupcakes for his babysitter friends (they had been eagerly awaiting them) and to go for a swim with mom.  At night, he joined mom, dad, and Uncle Jordan at Wild Wing.  Colton got an extra surprise when Uncle Gregg joined them too (with a fun new plane for Colton nonetheless).  Colton was such a good boy at dinner...even sitting in a big boy chair and drinking from a big boy cup for a portion of it!

Year 2, Day 143

Colton's day was busy spent getting ready for the big gender reveal party tonight.  It turns out Colton is going to have a little brother!!!!

Year 2, Day 142

Colton had a fun-filled, action-packed day today.  After his morning trip to the JCC, he joined his new playgroup friends at the Botanical Gardens World of Wonders, a fun water fountain park, that he LOVED.  Colton had a really good time running and splashing in the water.  As much as mom had hoped the fun in the sun would wear him out, he was not happy nor compliant in taking his nap once we got home.  After the failed attempt, it was time to get ready to head to the doctor's office for mom's big ultrasound.  Aunt Genna took Colton to the park while mom and dad went in.  Colton's little sibling looks "pefect!" (we love that word around here), and we are anxious to find out tomorrow what he/she is!  After the ultrasound, Colton joined mom, dad, Aunt Genna, Meme, and Papa for a marathon dinner at Havanas after which he was finally exhausted.
