Year 2, Day 185

Colton started off his morning with Meme while mom was at her doctor's appointment.  Once mom was able to pick him up, they went to the park for a little bit before heading home.  After his nap, Colton had a blast playing in/totally messing up his playroom.  Once dad got home, he joined everyone for dinner at the California Pizza Kitchen.

Year 2, Day 184

L'Shanah Tovah 5752!  Colton spent yesterday at mom's old school helping out (and then playing with) the kids.  After his nap, he braved the floods and ridiculous thunderstorms to take a 50 minute drive to Meme and Papa's for Rosh Hashannah dinner.  Today, he woke up and attended services with the whole family.  Technically, he spent most of the time in the babysitting room, but did come in for the shofar blowing.  After services, he joined everyone at the 58 Diner for a nice Jewish lunch (!) and then came home to take his nap.  When he woke up, he was very excited to find Dad and his friend installing cable in his playroom (a real Rosh Hashannah miracle!).  When they were done, he headed to Mexican for dinner and then came home to finally hit the sack.

Year 2, Day 183

Colton spent his morning at school and then came home to spend his afternoon with the family.  He had fun riding his motorcycle out front for a bit and spent some quality time with dad on the back porch while he grilled dinner.

Year 2, Day 182

Happy half birthday to our sweet Colton today!  Yep, as of today, Colton has been with us for a whole year and a half.  He is sweet, but feisty and sly when he wants to be.  He is shy in new situations, but quite the ham when he is comfortable.  He is ALL BOY, playing full speed ahead in all his awake moments.  He loves his daddy, but has a special fondness for his mommy that makes my heart burst.  I feel so blessed to have watched him grown and learn.

Year 2, Day 181

Colton took it nice and easy today.  With the Steelers game not on until tonight (well after his bedtime), he hung out inside most of the day.  Aunt Genna was nice enough to bring him some french fries for dinner and then he spent some time playing with her in his playroom before she left.

Year 2, Days 179 and 180

Colton has had a busy last couple of days despite all the rainy, nasty weather here in Virginia Beach.  On Friday, he and mom went to the Children's Museum for a bit and then stopped to get him a smoothie (probably the highlight of the day) before his nap.  In the afternoon, he headed to the One Hour office to help set up for the cookout and then came home to spend a little time with his grandparents while mom and dad had a nice dinner out.

On Saturday, he attended the One Hour cookout where he was a huge hit as always.  Unfortunately, though, the cookout led to a no nap day for Colton, so he went to a pretty early dinner at Wild Wing with mom, dad, and Aunt Genna before coming home to crash for the night.

Year 2, Day 178

Colton spent his morning at school (where he apparently decided to have some sort of run in with sand and water  because he was in different shorts when mom came to pick him up!...all boy I tell you) and then came home to spend his afternoon at home.  It turns out we have made some progress on the whole learning to watch tv front, as Colton enjoyed a full episode of "Blue's Clues" and even part of "The Wiggles."

Year 2, Day 177

Colton took advantage of the remaining sunshine today and hit the Kids Cove park for some swinging, sliding, and playing with a friendly boxer he met.  It must not have been enough fun for him, though, because once he got home, he decided to climb into his swimming pool (the same one he was indifferent to all summer long) and do a little splashing in the remaining rain water...fully clothed...shoes, socks, and all (mom took them off before the photo). He spent the rest of the day at home with mom and then with dad once he got home.

Year 2, Day 176

After running around for the last few days, Colton seemed happy to come home from school today and have nothing to do!  After his nap, he went to pick up some dinner with mom because Dad was in northern Virginia for the day for some training.  Luckily, he got home before Colton's bed time and Colton was happy to spend time at the table with him (actually, we think he was just very happy to be sitting in the big boy chair!).

Year 2, Day 175

Carrying over from last week, Colton was busy today running errands with mom.  After hitting the JCC, Best Buy, AC Moore, and the Teeter, he was rightfully ready to head home.  After his nap, Colton took Chipper for a walk and then got ready for dinner and play time with mom and dad.  On a side note, Colton has recently discovered the purpose of the camera and now smiles on command...

Year 2, Days 173 and 174

Despite the nasty weather, Colton spent his weekend visiting and playing.  On Saturday, he met mom's friend Claire for lunch and then went to spend the night at Meme and Papa's house so mom and dad could go meet another friend for dinner.  Mom picked him up in time to meet everyone to watch the Steelers game on Sunday.  Thank goodness they fared MUCH better this week than last, and despite being a little wiggly at first, Colton did an awesome job once again.
Saturday morning hamming it up!

Year 2, Day 172

Colton was a busy, busy boy today!  After his morning trip to the JCC, he was off to run quite a few errands with mom.  He got home in time to eat lunch before his nap.  When he woke up, Aunt Genna was over to play with him.  Dad came home from work and then Meme and Papa stopped by, so Colton had plenty of opportunities to show off for everyone.  Since everyone was hungry, he joined them at Zia Maries before coming home to crash from his long day!

Year 2, Day 171

First off, sorry for the delayed post today...I had written it last night, but for some reason, hit save instead of publish...oh well, more to look at now, right?
Colton started off his day at school.  When he got home, he wanted to take advantage of the warm temperatures (they are forecasted to drop drastically this evening) and play in his sprinkler one more time, which of course prompted a photo session.  After taking his nap, he went to visit his Mamaw and Judy for a bit and then picked up dad for dinner at Outback.  Overall, a pretty fun day:)

Year 2, Day 170

Colton spent his morning running errands with mom...luckily, he seems to enjoy shopping just as much as his mom does and was a happy camper the whole time, especially when they stopped at Taste Unlimited for some lunch and he got a few sips of cream soda!  After his nap, it was time to play and eat dinner.

Year 2, Day 169

Colton spent his morning at school and then came home to spend some quality time with mom (and then dad when he got home too).  He collected sticks in the backyard, rode his motorcycle, and chased after Chipper.

Year 2, Day 168

Colton took a trip to the zoo today with his friend Savannah (and mom's friend, Katie).  He seemed to really like the monkey, giraffes, and the fountains at the front where he got to get out and chase Savannah.  It was pretty hot, though, so Colton came home to take his nap before going with mom to buy a new double stroller (!) and to the grocery store.

Year 2, Day 167

Today was the long-anticipated kickoff of Colton's second Steelers season.  The bad news?  The Steelers looked downright awful (but we're hoping that was just a one week problem).  The good news?  Colton was perfectly behaved during the game.  He really enjoyed watching the football and had a good time playing with everyone there.

Year 2, Day 166

Colton spent the first half of his Saturday with dad (while mom was at a baby shower) and then ventured off to a friend's (well, technically dad's friend's daughter) birthday party for the afternoon.  He really enjoyed playing with all the kids and getting to eat ice cream all by himself.  After the party was over, mom and dad tried to push their luck and stop by Wild Wing for a quick bite, but Colton was clearly ready to head home.

Year 2, Day 165

Today was Colton fun day.  He joined his playgroup (and mom) at the Virginia Beach field house at what was described as a "McDonald's play area on steroids."  A very active Colton LOVED the place, but a 6-month pregnant mom was not so keen on climbing up and through everything.  At night, he met Uncle Jordan and Aunt Stephanie for dinner at AJ Gators.
