Day 313

Well, Colton had a rough start to the day today...he got kicked out of the babysitter's house because she was worried he was still contagious.  He didn't really seem to mind, though, as he got to go spend some time with mom at school and then dad came to pick him up and take him home.  Despite her concerns, Colton does seem to be getting better, so we are hoping this thing will be gone soon.  In the meantime, Colton had a little impromptu photo session in the bathtub, and because mom can't pick just one, here are his shots:

Day 312

Still feeling a little poopy (pun totally intended), Colton stayed home all day again today.  He did manage to make it out for dinner at the Outback with mom and dad.  Clearly, his appetite is not effected by this bug as he managed to eat almost a whole loaf of the "chocolate bread."  Mom and dad are really hoping little man can kick this thing completely soon...

Days 310 and 311

unfortunately, he has grown very accustomed to his medicine

little man in the big blue room
Colton apologizes for the absence of a post yesterday...mom's camera battery had died, so no photos could be uploaded.  Today, though, he promises to make up for it!  Colton is still not at 100%, but is clearly feeling a lot better than earlier in the week.  Because of that, he is still trying to take it easy.  He did manage to make it to the ODU basketball game.  He enjoyed the whole thing...his time in the Big Blue room before the game, the actual game, and dinner out with everyone afterwards.

Day 309

Hallelujah!!! Colton finally seems to have beaten his flu/strep throat combo.  Mom is super excited to have not changed a poopy diaper since 8:30 this morning (sorry if that's too much info for you, but it's very exciting around these parts).  Colton and mom even managed to get out for a bit today and picked Colton up a new walker that he has had fun scooting around on.  As promised, Colton took his 10 month portraits today, and as usual, he was so stinking cute (pardon his hair...he was going for that fresh out of bed look) that mom couldn't pick just one, so...

Day 308

Colton was still not feeling good today.  In fact, today was a little worse than yesterday:(  Luckily, he seemed to be improving again by the end of the day, so we're hoping maybe one more day will finally kick this thing away!  He did get a nice surprise visit from his Aunt Debbie (obviously the Va. Beach one) who was nice enough to see if little man or mom needed anything and to come by to keep them compnay.
Because he was not at 100%, we did not take Colton's 10 month portrait today (we will aim for tomorrow), but he is 10 months old already.  At 10 months, Colton is a ball of energy, constantly exploring and getting into mischief: the oven drawer, the refrigerator, Chipper's food, the liquor bottles, etc.  He laughs at "no," which obviously does not bode well for the future.  We have discovered a tickle spot under Colton's arms, where he giggles in delight.  Colton also loves his baths and his brother, Chipper: both bring huge smiles to his face.  Colton is an absolutely perfect baby:)

Day 307

Colton spent the day at home, resting and getting better.  He was certainly in much better spirits than yesterday, and spent a good part of the day playing.  But he is also clearly not at 100% yet either, napping for longer and not quite ready to eat yet.  Meme did stop by to bring him some more Pedialyte and diapers, so that was a bit of excitement and as always, seeing his brother brought a smile to his face every time!

Days 305 and 306

Sunday, Colton rested up all day getting ready for the Steelers game.  He didn't make it long into the game due to its late start time, but was excited when mom woke him up to tel him the Steelers had made it to the Super Bowl!!!
Sadly, Colton woke up today feeling pretty crummy, though.  Mom stayed home with him and took him to the doctor.  He has strep throat and the flu.  After running around town to pick up his medicines, he has been spending the rest of his night resting.  We are hoping baby boy feels much better soon

Day 304

Colton was a busy boy today.  He started the morning off by joining mom at the fabric store and then both mom and dad as they finally bought some carpet.  Colton participated in his first "white out" yesterday at the ODU-VCU game.  Unfortunately, ODU could not pull off the win, but baby boy, who had not had a real nap all day, was quite the trooper.  Afterwards, he joined mom and dad for a quick dinner before going home to pass out for the night and get ready for the HUGE Steelers game tomorrow.

Day 303

Yay for making it to another Friday.  After spending the day at the babysitter's, Colton went out to dinner at AJ Gators with mom and dad.  He has to get ready for a busy, busy, sports-filled weekend, so he figured that was a good spot to kick it off.  He loved his grilled cheese dinner (the pieces he managed to get into his mouth anyway) and was ready to keep on playing once he got home...Colton has been non-stop energy lately!
Trying to climb out of his chair at dinner...
...and 2 seconds later once he spotted the camera...what a ham, huh?!?

Days 301 and 302

Sorry for no post yesterday...Colton was out late at the ODU Basketball game.  In fact, baby boy was so exhausted at the game that he completely passed out at half time, so mom and dad left the game pretty early to get him home and in bed.  Today was much more normal for Colton.  He came home from the babysitters to go play with mom and Chipper.

Day 300!!!!

colton's signature look these days: tongue out!
Wow!!! I didn't even realize Colton had spent so many days with us until I went to type this post...crazy!!!  He must have been in a celebrating mood because he was crazy active from the minute we walked in the door.  He is now officially "walking" along our furniture, fireplace, and anything else he can get his little hands on.  He is a ball of energy, but a completely happy baby, who makes us literally laugh out loud at his constant mischief-making

Day 299

Colton loved spending a day off with mom today.  He started it off with a trip to the JCC, followed by the weekly run to Target and the Teeter.  In much need of a nap, Colton was testy, testy in Target but managed to get himself together for the grocery store and was in much better spirits once he was home and able to crawl around and play with his brother.  After waking up from his nap, Colton was right back to playing.  His favorite spot these days is the oven, which he loves to open up the bottom drawer and take out all of the baking pans...super!

Sunday, January 16, 2011

Day 298

Colton enjoyed his Sunday family time, especially his trip to the mall with mom and dad.  At night, he headed over to Grandpa Billy's house for his birthday celebration.  Colton had fun crawling around and trying mashed potatoes and banana pudding.  He was also super excited to watch the Jets upset the Patriots, meaning the Steelers will have a home game next week for a chance to go to the Super Bowl in Colton's rookie season:)

Day 297

PS: in all the excitement yesterday, mom forgot to
take a picture, so this is from a few days ago.
Have no fear: baby boy was proudly sporting his
Steelers gear today
Woo to the hoo!!!  Colton is super excited to have witnessed his first Steelers playoff victory, although it was quite stressful to behold.  Baby boy thoroughly enjoyed watching the game with mom, dad, Meme, Papa, and Uncle Ryan and Aunt KC.  He also loved eating his pizza and playing with everyone.  In the morning, Colton ran some errands with mom and dad, including a trip to Babies R Us where he was one of three babies in the aisle sporting Steelers gear and high fiving (well the parents were)...we think Dad is starting to get a little jealous of "Steeler Nation."  Colton is already looking forward to next week's game...whomever the opponent may be.

Day 296

Yay for making it to Friday.  Colton enjoyed his time a the babysitter's as usual, although they did comment that they are "really having to watch him now." (it seems our little boy is quite the explorer).  Once home, Colton hung out with mom and then spent the evening with his grandparents while mom and dad went out to dinner with Uncle Jordan and Aunt Stephanie.  With dinner, Colton did whip out his Steelers sippy cup to get ready for tomorrorw's big game!

Thursday, January 13, 2011

Day 295

Colton started today off on a high note: he managed to "walk" across the kitchen floor while pushing a basket in front of him.  It won't be long now until baby boy is off to the races it appears!  Other than that, Colton spent his day like normal with the babysitters and then coming home to mom, dad, and Chipper.  At home, it was virtually impossible to keep Colton in one room for more than a few seconds, as he is constantly exploring these days and working on his standing abilities.

Day 294

Well, Colton had another pretty uneventful day spent at the babysitter's, followed by a quick trip to the JCC, and then finished up with a dinner out with mom and dad.  Woo-hoo...can't wait for a 3 day weekend this weekend!

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

Day 293

YAY!  Colton woke up to the excellent news of a 2-hour delay again today:)  Even better, he had a doctor's appointment scheuled for the afternoon, so he was only at the babysitter's house for a couple of hours.  In his short time at the babysitter's, though, he managed to really impress her with his ability to balance his bottle on the top of his hand to feed himself (she said he was the first baby she has ever seen do this in 30+years of babysitting....hmmm...I wonder what that means for his future!)  His doctor's appointment went fine...his ears are all better.  Afterwards, it was back home to hang out with everyone:)

Monday, January 10, 2011

Day 292

The babysitter reported that Colton was in a particularly good mood today (it must have been all that time with mom and dad this weekend).  After leaving there, he stopped by the JCC before heading home to spend some quality time with his family, espcially his brother.  Colton has developed a bad habit of taking Chipper's prize posession bone away from him, although tonight Chipper found a way for the two of them to share.  By the way, you can't tell from the picture, but Colton is totally ready for the playoffs...those are his Steelers pajamas!

Sunday, January 9, 2011

Day 291

Colton had a nice, relaxing day with his mom, dad, and Chipper at home.  He spent the whole day in his pajamas, playing, eating and relaxing.  The excitement of the day was him trying pizza for the first time...definitely a big hit with baby boy!

Saturday, January 8, 2011

Day 290

Colton was a busy boy today.  After running errands with mom in the morning (including a visit to the towhouse mom, dad, and Chipper lived in before his arrival), Meme and Papa picked him up to go to the ODU basketball game.  It was a really good game, with ODU pulling out a close win, but Colton was a little perturbed that the game was scheduled during his nap time.  In fact, he spent most of the first half sleeping in Meme's arms, but then woke up to enjoy the rest of the game.  After getting home, Colton joined mom and dad for dinner at CP Shuckers.  He was pleasantly surprised when Meme and Papa stopped by for a visit.

Friday, January 7, 2011

Day 289

Colton had a pretty uneventful day at the babysitter's, although they did report that his ear may be bothering again (have no fear...mom made an appointment for Monday morning).  Once home, Colton spent the evening with his grandmother who volunteered to come over so mom and dad could get out for a grown up night for a couple of hours.

Thursday, January 6, 2011

Day 288

The babysitter reported that Colton was not interested in eating today (although he was in good spirits), so mom was a little worried when she picked up little man.  After gobbling down an entire grilled cheese, some bread, and some mums (not to mention his bottle) at the Outback, though, mom had no more worries about Colton!

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

Day 287

Colton was labled the "class clown" today at the babysitter's house for all of his antics, including pulling the new baby's hair several times!   I guess we will have work on teaching him how to play nicely:)  Other than that, his other highlight of the day came when dad came home from work.  Colton was in his chair, drinking his bottle.  When he saw dad, he said, "da..................da...........................da."  The dots in between is because there was quite the pause in between each syllable, but Josh is convinced Colton was trying to talk to him...hmmm

Day 286

Colton and Chipper, both happy to see dad arrive home
Another day, another day spent at the babysitter.  Once home, though, Colton got to spend some time playing with Chipper.  He even got to try asparagus and chicken nuggets for dinner.  He seemed to enjoy both:)

Monday, January 3, 2011

Day 285

Well, it was back to school for mom and Colton.  He was a little reluctant to say goodbye at first, but once he found his favorite drum, he was off and just fine according to Carol (his babysitter).  A new baby started today, so Colton is no longer the youngest, although our little peanut is still the smallest:)  Ever since the nurse's concerns last week about Colton's lack of "mama" and "dada," he seems to have responded by really amping up his verbal skills.  He is definitely saying "mama," although he certainly is not actually referring to mom while he says it!

Sunday, January 2, 2011

Day 284

Colton had a fantastic day, as he watched the Steelers clinch their #2 seed and first round bye.  He  is hopeful that his rookie season will be a Super Bowl winning one!  Aside from the Steelers game, he was also excited to try his very first Taste Unlimited sandwich.  At night, Uncle Jordan came over for a quick visit.  Colton was off to bed early as (sadly) he has to return to school tomorrow.

Saturday, January 1, 2011

Day 283

OK, now it's officially happy 2011!  Colton had a good day, getting lots of errands done and eating lunch with mom and dad.  As everyone was getting ready for dinner, though, dad got a scary call that Colton's Aunt Debbie (the Va. Beach one) had a heart attack. Of course, Colton sped to the car and over to the hospital to see her and make sure she was ok...which thankfully she is:)  After the hospital adventure, Colton had to join mom and dad for a late dinner at TGI Fridays (where mom and dad met).  Colton hung in there once again, but was fast asleep as soon as the car started.
