February 29, 2012

Colton and Levi spent their first leap day in not so exciting fashion: out and about running errands with mom. Both boys were wonderfully behaved, though, and got many compliments as usual (on a side note, we are certainly realizing that the sight of a toddler and infant draws a lot of attention!).  Once home, the boys hung out for the afternoon/evening and then got their Sesame fix for the night...yep, even Levi's getting in on the act (in his picture, he's turned to look at the tv)!

February 28, 2012

Colton spent his morning in school, while Levi stayed home (ie: slept!) with mom.  But then the easy ended, and the boys gave mom a run for her money the rest of the day.  Levi seemed to want to be held aaallll afternoon, while Colton just needed lots of "help" (his new favorite word) with his train set (ie: he kept taking the track apart and then asking mom to put it back together).  To top it off, the boys were very against their naps again, although Colton did finally fall asleep.  Oh well, this too shall pass...right?!?  Colton did have a nice treat after dinner when he got to go with mom and dad by himself to get some ice cream, while his grandmother stayed at the house with Levi.  Colton loved the attention...and the ice cream!

February 27, 2012

Levi and Colton were up and at 'em bright and early this morning.  Good thing too because it was a busy day for the boys.  They started it off at the JCC and then met Nene, who took them to her house, while mom went to a dentist appointment.  They hung out with Nene (and even got a surprise visit from Papa) and then went home.  Both boys must have had such a good time, though, that they didn't want to take naps because there was no napping at the Hobbs house today!
And in late breaking news: Levi officially gave his first little giggle (in his sleep, but with a big ole grin on his face!) as mom was typing this...cutest thing ever!

February 25-26, 2012

Colton and Levi shared another wonderful weekend.  Saturday morning was spent on a family trip to Target (yep, dad even joined us!) and then were home to rest up.  After naps, they headed to the final ODU basketball game of the year...Colton has become quite the fan and loves every minute of the action.  After the game, the boys headed off with Uncle Ryan and Aunt KC, who were nice enough to give mom and dad a night out to themselves.

Sunday was a pretty lazy day for the boys who stayed in for most of the day.  They did join mom and Gigi for a quick lunch out and then mom and dad for dinner out at Carrabbas.

February 24, 2012

The boys started off their morning with their daily trip to the JCC (don't worry...Colton kept his clothes on this time), but then had to head outside and enjoy the 80 degree day.  They met Colton's friend Landon at the Fun Forest park for a play day.  Colton LOVED the park and was super excited to climb, slide, and run.  After playing, the boys joined mom, Landon, and his mom for lunch before going home to rest up.  At night, they had a nice dinner out at AJ Gator's with mom and dad.

February 23, 2012

With beautiful to spend as much of the day outside as possible. So, after Colton's school morning, that is exactly what they did!!! The outdoors must have worn both boys out because they both took a nice long nap (yep, even at the same time!!!) before waking up for more play time. Once dad got home, they had a nice family dinner and settled in for the night.

February 22, 2012

Levi and Colton started off their morning with their daily trip to the JCC.  Colton decided to entertain the entire babysitting room by attempting to take off his shirt and pants...luckily mom got back before he could get too far (the shirt was over his head and the pants unbuttoned)!  After that excitement, the boys joined mom for a quick trip to Nordstrom and then took advantage of the beautiful weather to head to the park.  Nene was nice enough to meet them there so Colton could play at Kids Cove.  After a nice long nap, Colton joined mom for more outdoor play time.  When dad got home, everyone ran out for a quick dinner where both boys were wonderful as always!

February 21, 2012

Today was another pretty normal day for the boys as Colton spent his morning in school while Levi kept mom company.  Once Colton was home, he enjoyed playing on the iPad (we think it may be part of the reason he is now recognizing O and D).  Levi stayed busy talking away and giving mom a couple really good smiles, although we have not yet been able to capture one on camera!

February 20, 2012

Colton and Levi spent their Monday in typical fashion...first at the JCC and then making a trip to the Harris Teeter for the weekly grocery run.  Once home, the boys enjoyed playing in their own ways.  For Levi that means tummy time, swinging, and smiles.  And for Colton that means getting into absolutely everything, wearing his helmet while he rides his fire engine, and practicing "Ice Cream and Cake" while watching his own video of it.

February 19, 2012

Today was a big day for Levi as he woke up for the first time in his own room/crib...yep, mom and dad made the big switch last night and Levi handled it like a champ (although he still seems no closer to sleeping through the night...).  Once up, both boys joined mom and dad for breakfast out and then went and visited their great grandparents.  When they got home, it was time for them to entertain some visitors of their own as their grandmother and mom's friends stopped by.  With the nasty weather, Colton was excited to order some Chinese food (he loves the fried noodles) and stay in for the evening.

PS: Taking candid pictures of Colton is proving to be more and more difficult as he immediately poses as soon as he sees the camera.

February 17-18, 2012

Whew!  The boys sure have been busy being their busy, adorable selves.  On Friday, Colton and Levi went to Taylor (mom's old school) to visit and meet everyone.  Both boys were a hit with the teachers and students alike.  Colton had an especially good time at recess with all the kids as he led them around the playground.  At night, they joined Gigi and Jimmy for dinner at Wild Wing.

On Saturday, Colton and Levi started their day off by visiting Nene and Papa's house (they hadn't been there for quite some time!).  After that, they joined mom and dad for their last round (hopefully!) of car shopping.  At night, Colton and Levi headed to the JCC for "parent's night out" while mom and dad went to a surprise birthday party.  Both boys were wide awake and having a good time when mom and dad came back to pick them up.

February 16, 2012

Colton headed off to school this morning, while Levi joined mom at home for a workout, some cleaning, and a few quick errands.  After their naps, the boys were happy to have Quiana and Patrick come over...and even more excited when they suggested taking an afternoon trip to the Skinny Dip!  Later, the boys joined mom and dad for pizza at home and then their baths and "Sesame Street."

February 15, 2012

The boys celebrated Levi's official 6 week birthday by hitting up the JCC, where Levi is now legal to attend, and then running a couple quick errands with mom.  At 6 weeks, Levi is "talking" to us much more, although we are still patiently waiting for that elusive first big grin of his (there are some questionable ones in there, but we want a really convincing smile!).  Both boys must have been exhausted from their sleepless day the day before because both were pretty lazy and took good naps for the afternoon.  Once dad got home, the whole family had dinner together before settling in for the night.

February 14, 2012

Happy Valentine's Day from Levi and Colton...and what a busy Valentine's Day it was!  Colton started off his day at school, while mom and Levi were busy getting ready for Valentine's dinner.  Nene surprised Colton and came over just in time to pick him up from school and then stayed with him while mom (finally!) took Levi to his checkup.  Levi now weighs in at 10 pounds exactly and measures 23 inches (although we're wondering if there wasn't some stretching going on with that...), putting him in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th for height.  Once mom and Levi got back home (and Colton decided not to take a nap...super!), the boys helped mom prepare a nice dinner at home for dad.  It was a really nice night in for everyone.

February 13, 2012

Colton and Levi both finally treated mom to a decent night's sleep (Levi slept 4 hours, and then another 5, while Colton manged to sleep until 7:30 for the first time since his brother's arrival!).  Once up, they started in on their Monday routine...JCC followed by the grocery store.  They spent the rest of the day at home hanging out, although Levi has clearly not gotten on board with the whole nap schedule around here...despite his picture, he managed to make it all day without a nap!

February 12, 2012

Colton and Levi were excited to wake up to some snow this morning!!!  It was a bit too cold for Levi to head out in it, but Colton went out to play for a few minutes (once his hand got in it, he was done!).  The boys spent the rest of the day relaxing inside.  In the afternoon, their grandmother came over to watch them for a bit while mom and dad went to test drive some cars (and sneak in a dinner out!).

February 11, 2012

After spending the morning with mom while dad was at work, Colton and Levi were excited to go to the ODU/VCU basketball game. Both boys looked handsome in their white for the whiteout. Although ODU didn't win, they had a good time and enjoyed meeting everyone for dinner at Tortilla West afterwards
And a little Colton "Ice Cream and Cake" action:

February 10, 2012

Colton and Levi had a jam-packed, fun day with Mom.  After a morning trip to the JCC, they made a quick trip to Target and then met Quiana and Patrick for some lunch.  Colton really loved his salsa at lunch...that was pretty much all he ate...and really enjoyed seeing/copying Patrick again.  After naps, the boys joined mom and Gigi for dinner at California Pizza Kitchen.  On a side note, Mom promises this will be the last "boys in bed" picture for awhile, but with Chipper joining in on the action, she couldn't resist.

February 9, 2012

Colton started his day off at school, while Levi came home to help mom out around the house (well, really he slept through everything, which was about as helpful as we needed!).  After picking up Colton, everyone came back home to relax.  When dad got home, the family went out to pick up dinner at AJ Gators.

February 8, 2012

Today was a big day for the boys as Levi made his big debut at the JCC babysitting room (we snuck him in a week early...shhh, don't tell!).  Colton was clearly excited to return to the play room and seemed to be happy to have his brother there with him.  After their time there, Colton and Levi joined mom for some quick errands and then returned home for the day.  Over the course of the day we noticed that  Levi is really beginning to look and act like a big boy.  In fact, he is doing a really a good job of holding his head up on his own and looking around.

February 7, 2012

Colton and Levi seemed to have become very fond of their morning routine of watching tv in bed (mom kinda likes it too cause she can get some stuff done while they relax!).  But today, they couldn't lay around too long because Colton had to get to school.  He had a good day there and we even found out that he may have his first little crush...one of the little girl's mom's told us today that the little girl kept picking up her phone all day yesterday and saying "hi Colton." Needless to say, mom totally thought it was the cutest thing ever!  After Colton's school day, everyone came home and relaxed for the rest of the day.

PS: You may notice that one of today's pictures is actually from the Super Bowl and another one is from last night's dinner with Nene (her new official name!) and Papa, but mom just got them from Nene and Aunt KC.

February 5-6, 2012

With a big party to go to for the Super Bowl, Levi and Colton took it easy Sunday morning.  The boys joined mom and dad for lunch at Baker's Crust, but other than that, just hung out at the house.  Good thing too because they were both needed plenty of energy for the party at Jimmy's brewery.  Levi slept a bit and then was passed around for tons of love, while Colton ran around, played, and ate his way through the event.

The boys were slow getting started on Monday too...although both were up plenty early, but they spent the morning in bed watching tv and then playing while mom looked unsuccessfully for her shoe (which we're thinking Colton must have something to do with)!  Afterwards, Colton and Levi hit the Teeter for their weekly trip and then were right back home for the rest of the day.  At night, they met Meme and Papa for dinner at Gordon Biersch to see them one last time before they left for their trip to Costa Rica.

February 4, 2012

Colton and Levi spent their morning at home while mom ran some errands and then dad took his turn.  Over the morning, they were also treated to a visit from Aunt Genna.  After naps, they went over to their friend Savannah's house for her birthday celebration.
