Year 2, Day 216

Well, the obvious highlight of today was Colton's first trick-or-treating experience tonight.  After Meme stopped by to see Colton in his costume and deliver some candy, he was off through the neighborhood with mom and dad (Chipper started out on the journey too, but had to go home after just one house as he was a little over-eager!).  While he was a bit hesitant at the first couple of houses, he quickly got the hang of it and started confidently grabbing for candy to put in his pumpkin bucket.  Luckily, mom got her good camera back today (FINALLY!), so enjoy some good pics:

Year 2, Day 215

Colton woke up today in an excellent mood, clearly happy to see that mom and dad were home!  With Halloween tomorrow, the morning was spent carving Colton's first pumpkin.  As you will see from the pictures, he was not very thrilled with the whole thing at first and spent much of the beginning playing on the back porch.  After awhile, though, Colton got a little more into it.  When the pumpkin was done, it was time to rest up for the Steelers game and Papa's birthday celebration.  Once he was up, he was happy to go cheer on the Steelers (to their big win!) and celebrate with everyone:)

Year 2, Days 211-214

For those that did not know, mom and dad were away vacationing/working in Orlando for the past few days, so Colton was left behind with his grandparents and Aunt Genna graciously watching after him.  He had a good time with everyone, but was super excited to see mom and dad pull up at home...his smile was about as big as possible on his little face and then he promptly began showing off with a vengeance for the next hour or so...running, spinning, throwing, yelling!  As nice as it was to be away, mom and dad sure are happy to be back with their little man and have the whole family together again.

Year 2, Day 210

After going to school in the morning, Colton came home to play outside with mom and Chipper before his nap.  When he woke up, he was happy to see that Aunt Genna was here for a bit.  Later, he "helped" mom pack for the upcoming trip...or made a complete mess by taking every item of clothing and trying to put them on!

Year 2, Day 209

Whew!  What a busy day Colton had.  He had to wake up bright and early to get Chipper to the vet for his haircut and check up.  After dropping him off, he was off to the JCC, the cleaners, and the grocery store.  When he got home, he was happy to have his friend Savannah come by to join him for lunch and a little play date at the house.  Although the picture may not show it, Colton had a BLAST playing with Savannah...chasing her all over the house! All that action wore Colton out, so it was time for his nap.  And when he woke up, he was right back at it...heading out to pick Chipper up and then coming home to play with mom and dad.

Year 2, Day 208

Steelers Sunday...do we need to say anything more?  Colton's day was spent getting breakfast with mom and dad, coming home to play and nap before the game, and then finally (and most exciting) meeting everyone at Chick's for the game, which luckily was quite successful.

Year 2, Day 207

Colton was happy to have a weekend that wasn't so busy finally, and took full advantage by going to the park and out to lunch with mom and dad.  He managed to charm all of the patrons at Taste Unlimited with his PB and J antics.  After his nap, he went over to his grandparents' house and then out to dinner with mom and dad at  Public House.

Year 2, Day 206

The JCC was closed once again, so Colton started off his day by taking Chipper for a walk at Mt. Trashmore.  Afterwards, he was a champ and joined mom for quite a few errands.  After taking his nap, though, he was treated to his highlight of the day.  It was time to change into his Cookie Monster costume and head to his friend Savannah's (mom's friend Katie's) Halloween party.  He had a good time and was very happy to find an Elmo balloon that he ended up keeping for his own after clutching it the entire party.  On the way home, he met dad for some dinner at Wild Wing (don't worry...mom was nice enough to change him out of his costume!).

Year 2, Day 205

Colton had a really fun day at Hunt Club Farm today taking a hayride, petting animals (and even feeding some) in the petting zoo, and playing on the haystack.  Meme was nice enough to join in the fun.  On the way home, the three of them stopped for some lunch at Panera and then Colton came home for a much-needed nap.  Once he woke up, he joined mom and dad for Mexican.

Year 2, Day 204

After his morning trip to the JCC, Colton headed to McArthur Mall with mom where he did a little shopping and then had a blast playing in their play area.  After lunch and naptime, Colton woke up for some playing before going to visit Mamaw and Papaw with mom and dad.

Year 2, Day 203

Colton was back at school today, where they reported that he likes to throw things (ya think?!?).  Other than that, though, he seems to be having a good time there and appears to be making some friends.  Once mom picked him up, he came back home for his nap and then woke up to join her and Chipper for a much-needed trip to the Pet Smart.  All the dogs in one place was a bit much for both boys to handle, though, so that will most likely be the last family outing to Pet Smart!

Year 2, Day 202

Colton had another busy Monday with mom today as she dragged him around from errand to errand.  At least when he woke up from his nap, he was greeted with a surprise visit from his Aunt Debbie to add some excitement to his day.  Later, he took Chipper for a walk, played with mom and dad, and watched some Sesame Street.

Year 2, Day 201

It was another exciting football Steeler Sunday as Colton joined the Kletz family at Wild Wing to watch another victory.  Mainly, Colton seemed very happy with the corn dog nuggets and french fries he managed to munch on for the entire game, but was happy to watch some football too.

Year 2, Day 200

Wow!  What a trooper our little man is.  Colton left the house this morning at 10AM to head down to the ODU homecoming parade, tailgate, and football game.  After stopping for dinner on the way home, he did not arrive until 6:30PM...no nap or anything!  Best of all, he was in a good mood the entire day, making mom and dad very proud as always.

Year 2, Day 199

After taking Chipper for a walk, Colton began his day with a much-needed haircut.  Mom decided to really go for it this time, hoping that the shorter do will give us a little more time in between cuts.  While Colton has lost his adorable curls for a bit, he certainly looks much more grown up and just as cute, just in a different way!  After the haircut, he ran some errands with mom before coming home for his nap.  When he woke up, Aunt Genna was here for play time and then he joined mom and dad for dinner at Carrabas.

Year 2, Day 198

Colton had no school today (Sukkot in case you're curious), so instead he and mom took Chipper for a nice walk in the morning and then headed to the Bounce House, an indoor inflatable playground.  While he was not a huge fan of the actual inflatables, he did love running around and trying out the slides and cars.  Since he was close to dad, he stopped to have some lunch with him before heading home.  For some reason, all that fun didn't lead to a nap for Colton, so he spent the afternoon playing with mom, watching some tv, and feeding Chipper (one piece of food at a time!).

Year 2, Days 196 and 197

Colton went to school yesterday morning and then was picked up by Meme while mom was away at IKEA for the day.  He stayed there until dad came to get him after work and then the two of them spent a rare evening alone!
Today, Colton seemed very happy to be back with mom.  After the morning trip to the JCC, he ran a couple of errands, mainly trying to round up the supplies for his Halloween costume.  He did make a quick stop in the pet store, though, to play with the puppies there (mom was almost tempted into getting one, but knew dad would not handle that well!).  Once home, he had fun playing in his playroom and outside while he waited for dad.

Year 2, Day 195

After his morning trip to the JCC, Colton was stuck waiting at Verizon for quite some time while mom got a new phone.  On a positive, he got to have his first lollipop (don't worry Papa, he was only allowed to suck on it for a bit...no bites) while he waited.  With new phone in hand (and hid away from Colton's little hands), he headed to the grocery store and then came home to take his nap.  Once dad got home, he joined everyone for dinner, where he ate tons of broccoli!  As a reward, he got his favorite cookie after his bath!

Year 2, Day 194

Colton stayed home and played host to the Steelers viewing party today.  And good thing too considering they finally looked good for the first time all season, although he napped through the second half of the game.  When he woke up, he went to the pumpkin patch with mom and dad to pick out his pumpkins for the season.  Because it was late, it was decided that he and mom would just go back another day and do the hayride, petting zoo, etc, so after picking out his pumpkins, Colton went to get some dinner and then headed home for the night.
