Year 2, Day 246

Colton started his morning in typical fashion by joining mom at the JCC (where the ladies raved about how cute, fashionable, and "mature" he was...talk about an ego boost first thing in the morning!) and then joined mom for a couple of errands, including a very exciting stop at Toys R' Us to pick up some of Colton's pre-ordered holiday gifts!  He, then, rushed home to see Dad real quick before he left for his Florida trip.  Once dad was gone (sadly), Colton got right back to playing and nap time.  When he woke up, he got ready to go meet Meme, Papa, and Uncle Gregg for dinner at Maninos and then came home to a good bath and went straight to bed...all that spaghetti eating really wore him out!

Year 2, Day 245

Colton had a "very good" day at school (their words, not mine!) and then came home to play with mom and Chipper for the afternoon.  As he waited for dad to get home, he learned how to "draw" on the iPad and was quite fascinated by it!

Year 2, Day 244

Colton was a real trooper (and actually a lot of fun to have along) as he made his way through a bunch of errands with mom this morning. Hopefully, this will be it for awhile!  Colton's running around must have finally caught up with him, though, because he ended up taking a 3 hour nap.  When he woke up, he was in a very playful, fun mood and spent his evening playing with everyone.

Year 2, Day 243

Colton was busy exhausting mom and dad today, running around like a crazy man with all his energy and reading TONS of books.  He did run a couple of errands with mom this morning, where he spotted tons of Christmas decorations, prompting him to use his new favorite saying "ho, ho, ho" repeatedly...enough to attract quite a few chuckles at Target anyway!

Year 2, Days 241 and 242

Colton has been a busy boy getting out and about and enjoying the beautiful weather here in Va. Beach.  Yesterday, he joined mom and Aunt Genna for a little bit of Black Friday shopping before meeting mom's friend Kristina for lunch.  At night, he tried out the new Yard House restaurant with mom and dad.
Today, he headed out in the morning to the ODU playoffs (!) tailgate and football game.  As usual, Colton was fantastic at both and really did a wonderful job of being out so long (although he did take a quick nap on Meme).  On the way home, he stopped to get some dinner with mom and dad and then came home for the night.

Year 2, Day 240

Happy Thanksgiving!  Colton had a great day, complete with many of his traditions he had started last year and some new ones he picked up this year.  In the morning, he had pigs in a blanket dad had made for him.  Afterwards, he watched the Macy's parade which he loved, except for those pesky commercial breaks.  After his nap, people started arriving and Colton turned on his show off side.  He was very thankful to have so many wonderful friends and family to share the holiday with and can't wait for next year to have his brother here with him.

Year 2, Day 239

Colton woke up shirtless, but happy in his big boy bed...I guess we have learned a new trick!  He joined mom for a quick errand and then went and met her friend Beth for lunch.  When he was done there, he headed to the One Hour office to visit/ham it up at their Thanksgiving feast.  He came home to take his nap, and then woke up to join mom and dad for dinner at Wild Wing.  When he got home, he must have been anxious to return to his big boy bed cause he headed straight there and got himself in.

Year 2, Day 238

After spending his morning at school, Colton came back home to take his nap.  When he woke up, he played a little bit and then was surprised by a visit from Aunt Genna.  When she left, dad got home in time to have some pizza dinner and then Colton finished up his night time routine with a bath, milk, and "Sesame Street."

Monday, November 21, 2011

Year 2, Day 237

Colton spent the first part of his morning with Meme while mom was at the doctor.  After she was done, he was stuck running errands with mom for the morning, helping her get ready for Thanksgiving.  With all that done, Colton was eager to get home, have some lunch, and play outside for a bit.  After his bath, he followed his night time routine.  In fact, Colton is so into his routine that he got very upset when "Sesame Street" wasn't on when he was done with his bath, crying the entire 10 minutes until it came on at 7!

Year 2, Day 236

Colton had a very successful evening sleeping in his big boy bed.  In fact, he slept all the way until 8:00 this morning!  Once up, he joined mom and dad for breakfast out and then stopped by Papaw's house to see him and Judy for a bit.  In the afternoon, Colton took his first nap in his new bed (again, successful) and then met Meme and Papa for dinner.

Year 2, Day 235

While dad was working this morning, Colton joined mom for a couple errands.  They got home just in time to meet dad and went outside for some play time in the leaves.  After his nap, it was time to head out for Virginia Beach's Illumination parade.  Colton was quite into the parade, but was really excited to pet the dogs and to see Santa, of course!  He got a quick dinner with mom and dad at Gordon Biersch, and is, as we speak, tucked snugly into his big boy bed for the night...wish us luck!!!

Year 2, Day 234

Colton spent his day with mom and Aunt Genna, hitting the mall (where he got some much-needed new fall/winter clothes), Babies R Us (for his big boy bed rails), and Baker's Crust for lunch.  At night, he joined the Hobbs family for dinner at Outback to celebrate his grandma's birthday.

Thursday, November 17, 2011

Year 2, Day 233

Colton was up bright and early this morning (6:15 for some reason!) and in quite the foul mood for most of the morning.  Needless to say, mom was not too sad to drop him off at school for the morning and wished his teachers good luck.  They reported, though, that Colton actually had a pretty good day and he seemed to be in a better mood once he got home.  In the afternoon, he played in his new big boy room (no, it's not completely ready yet, but he does love his tee-pee!) and playroom.

Year 2, Day 232

Colton had a busy day today.  After his trip to the JCC, he ran a couple of errands with mom before going to the park for a bit.  He came home to eat some lunch, and then helped mom make a Colton- scarecrow.  He went down for his nap, and when he woke up he was happy to see Aunt Genna was over for a quick visit.  Once she left, he played, ate his dinner, and then camped out to watch some "Mickey Mouse Club," which he was very into.

Year 2, Day 231

After a morning spent at school, Colton came home to play outside in the yard with mom and Chipper.  He took a break to take his nap, but then was right back at it...the weather was just too nice to stay inside!  Once dad got home, he enjoyed dinner with everyone and then took his bath, watched some "Sesame Street," and drank his milk/ate his cookie.

Monday, November 14, 2011

Year 2, Day 230

Colton woke up happy to have his mom back home and surprised to find dad was home too (to celebrate his 4 year anniversary with One Hour!).  While dad went to pick up Colton's big boy mattress and box spring, mom and Colton ran a couple of errands.  Afterwards, Colton went home to enjoy the beautiful weather and play outside.  Once he was up from his nap, he joined mom and dad for some more errand running...this time searching for his dresser (to no avail!) and then for dinner at Wild Wing.

Year 2, Days 227-229

For those who did not know, Mom was away the last couple of days, busy in Ft. Lauderdale celebrating the future arrival of baby Alivia.  Therefore, Colton got to spend the weekend with his dad to himself (well, he had to share him with Chipper).  It was the first time the boys had been left on their own, but they survived (for a little peek into what they were up to this weekend, just watch the video)!  Mom was very happy to get back and see everyone Sunday afternoon, just in time to watch the Steelers victory as well.  Afterwards, Colton joined mom and dad for dinner at PF Changs.

Year 2, Day 226

When asked if Colton was good at school today, his teacher replied that he was "pretty good"...hmm, we wonder what that means, especially coupled with the fact that they have now started referring to him as the football player and also told mom that they were trying to teach Colton not to tackle at school!  Maybe this football obsession is going too far?!?  After school, Colton joined mom and her friend Claire for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory before going home for his nap.  When he woke up, Meme was here to see him before jetting off tomorrow morning.  After dinner, Colton had his most exciting highlight for awhile when he used his potty for the first time!!!  Mom and dad were so proud (but not necessarily optimistic that this is going to last).  Oh, and as far as obsessions go, Colton may also be taking his fondness of dogs a bit far as you can tell by this picture...

Year 2, Day 225

As promised, mom gave Colton a fun day today and luckily the weather cooperated by being beautiful!  After the trip to the JCC in the morning, Colton was off to the park for some play time where he had to check out every single swing at the place.  After throwing quite the fit at having to leave, Colton came home for a little fall fun... he collected leaves, pinestraw, and pinecones (we were supposed to make a little fall collage out of them, but Colton was pretty uninterested in that part!), mom raked some leaves for him to run through, and he even got in on the raking action.  At night, he joined mom and dad for dinner at Outback.

Year 2, Day 224

Colton had a great day at school.  Apparently, he has found his teacher's Steelers emblem on her id badge and spent the day pointing to it and saying "football."  After leaving school, he went to pick up his pictures with mom and then came home for a nice long nap.  When up, he joined mom and dad for dinner before going to bed.

Monday, November 7, 2011

Year 2, Day 223

Well, once again Colton was a trooper today as he trudged through some errands with mom for the entire morning (she promised him that if they got them all done today, Wednesday would be spent doing something fun!).  He was a pretty good sport about the whole thing, even though he was up super early this morning (6AM).  Once home, he spent his before and after nap time playing and taking Chipper for a walk.

Sunday, November 6, 2011

Year 2, Day 222

Colton woke up in a fantastic mood at Meme and Papa's house (at least according to them) and spent the morning with them until mom arrived to pick him up.  Once she did, they were off to meet Aunt Genna and Aunt KC for Genna's birthday lunch at Cheesecake Factory.  The time change or busy days of late must have worn our little man out, though, because he came home to take a 3.5 hour nap!  When he woke up, he was ready to play, watch some football (although not the Steelers who unfortunately weren't playing until night time), and eat some Chinese food with mom and dad until bed time.

Saturday, November 5, 2011

Year 2, Day 221

Well, today was Colton's last (at least regular season) tailgate and ODU football game of the season.  He was happy to have Uncle Ryan and Aunt KC's car to hang out in and explore in order to avoid the cold temperatures.  But once he got to the game, he turned on game mode and got pretty into it as usual.  He left the game with Meme and Papa to go spend the night at their house so mom and dad could go hang out a bit for Aunt Genna's birthday celebration.

Year 2, Day 220

Colton has been a real trooper this week bearing with mom as she runs countless errands and today was no exception.  He hit up Target, FedEx, the Children's Place, and mom's old school today to have lunch with her former coworkers.  Mom did reward him with a little play time on the playground when he was done.  After a much-needed nap, he joined mom, dad, and Uncle Jordan for dinner at Wild Wing.

Year 2, Days 218 and 219

What a busy couple days Colton has had!  Yesterday, Colton spent the morning with Meme while mom was at the doctor's office.  At night, he and mom went for a photo session with Meme's friend at the beach.  Although cute as usual, Colton was quite the rascal at the beach and seems to have discovered an affinity for throwing sand.  After school today, Colton had to join mom at Uncle Ryan and Aunt KC's house as the movers helped clear out his future big boy room.  In the evening, he joined the entire Kletz clan for Aunt Genna and Uncle Gregg's birthday dinner at Il Giardino's.  As usual, he commanded all the attention and was a very good boy!
