August 30, 2012

With Colton all better (hallelujah!), the boys were eager to get out and have some fun today...and the JCC had everything they needed.  After mom's workout, she and Colton hit up the putt putt course.  It was probably a good thing we started with this free version because Colton seemed to think the point of the game was to throw the ball at the hole.  Needless to say, we only made it through a few holes before heading inside to pick up Levi (he was still hanging out in babysitting) and hit the pool for the last time this summer.

August 29, 2012

Colton seemed to be back to 100% (or close to it!) and just in time as today was his first day of school.  When he woke up, he was excited to see the "back to school fairy" had visited and left him some goodies in his bookbag.

Once he was dressed and ready, it was time to get going.  Of course, mom made him stop on the front porch for his obligatory picture.  Colton wasn't interested in wearing his bookbag or holding the sign mom had made for him, but he did entertain his brother some.

With pictures done, the boys loaded up the car and set off to meet dad for a special doughnut breakfast.

And then Colton arrived at school...

And Levi made himself right at home in the classroom as well...
When mom and Levi came back to pick him up, he was in an excellent mood and seemed to have had a really good time.  And because no special day is complete without a little celebratory cake, Colton enjoyed some "back to school" cake after his dinner (Levi REALLY enjoyed his tastes as well!)

August 28, 2012

Colton seemed to be feeling better today, with his fever staying away (although we could tell his throat was definitely still hurting once the medicine wore off each time).  He and Levi spent the morning with Nene while mom was at the gym and then a dentist appointment.  Other than that excitement, the boys spent the rest of the day at home. At night, their grandmother did stop by for a visit and to bring Colton a milkshake.

August 26-27, 2012

Well, the last two days have certainly been a bit trying around here.  Colton woke up Sunday with a fever and some pretty terrible breath, so mom took him to Patient First, convinced that he had strep throat.

The good news was that he didn't, but he did have some very "angry tonsils" and was given an antibiotic.  Over the course of the day, he grew wary of his medicines, though, and eventually absolutely refused to take them, causing his fever to climb dangerously.  Eventually, mom and dad came up with some tricks to get the Tylenol in him and just gave up on the antibiotic.

The next day Colton got to return to the doctor for another appointment, this time to deal with the fact that he still needed the antibiotic.  Luckily, he seemed to be feeling much better and had even gone all morning without a fever (so much so that he even made a visit to his Meet the Teacher), but the doctor confirmed what he had learned yesterday: Colton has a pretty nasty case of tonsillitis.  After getting his shot, he was on his way...and hopefully on the road to getting better!  Levi was a good sport through this whole ordeal, and seemed to really enjoy the whole doctor's office experience (although we currently have our fingers crossed that he won't now get sick, especially after putting all kinds of junk in the "sick room" in his mouth).

August 25, 2012

Colton and Levi spent their morning running errands with mom while Dad was out golfing.  As a pretty boring Saturday for the boys, they then spent the rest of the day at home.  They did manage to get out at night for dinner at Manninos with mom and dad.  Not to brag (OK...maybe just a little!), but they got repeated compliments on how well-behaved (and cute!) they both were:)

August 24, 2012

Colton and Levi had fun enjoying one of their last days of summer by spending it at the zoo.  Both boys loved seeing the animals, riding on the train, and playing in the fountains.  At night, they went over to their grandparents house for Aunt Stephanie's birthday dinner.

August 23, 2012

Colton and Levi started their morning off at the JCC (as usual) and then went to visit mom's friend Kristina's new classroom.  After that, they returned home for some play time at home before joining mom and dad at their fantasy football draft.  And in our own little version of "how much fun can you have at the door?"....

August 22, 2012

After leaving the JCC today, Colton and Levi went to meet Colton's friend, Landon, at the park.  Both boys had a really good time exploring, climbing, and swinging.  After playing for awhile, they joined Landon and his mom for lunch at AJ Gators.  After taking their naps, they woke up for some play time outside and a nice phone conversation with Nene (Colton's...Levi is not quite ready for that yet...although he does seem to have mastered the sippy cup!).

August 21, 2012

After their morning trip to the JCC, Colton and Levi made a quick trip to Home Depot and then stopped by to see Gigi's new place.  After visiting, eating some lunch, and leaving tiny handprints on her tv, the boys came home for the rest of the day.

August 20, 2012

Colton and Levi braved the nasty weather today to make their triumphant return to the jcc and then join mom on the Monday errands. Later on when the sun finally peeked out, the boys went outside for bike rides and some fun with sidewalk chalk. On a side note, we have certainly learned since returning home that as Levi is more and more mobile, the mischief level in this house rises and rises.
