Day 97

Colton had a big day today. He started off the day as usual with a trip to the JCC, but that was interupted by a fire drill. His favorite babysitter escorted him out where he was reunited with mom, who was much more worried about the whole situation than a completely unfazed Colton! After that adventure, Colton headed to McArthur Mall to do a little shopping and meet mom's friend Mary at the Nordstrom Cafe for some lunch. Once he got home from that trip, he took Chipper for a quick walk now that the temperatures have finally cooled down a little bit. All of these adventures must have completely worn out the little man because he spent most of the evening napping soundly!

Day 96

Colton had to get off to an early start today, as Chipper had a haircut scheduled and had to be dropped off at the vet bright and early. Colton handled the tip well, though, and afterwards headed to one of his favorite places: the JCC. The early morning must have worn him out, though, because once getting home, he was in desperate need of a nap before going to Target and to pick up Chipper from his haircut. Then it was home to wait for dad to deliver the pizza and hang out for the night.

Day 95

Another hot day, another day spent inside. Aside from our daily trip to the JCC and weekly trip to the grocery store, Colton did not leave the comfort of the air conditioner! All was not lost, though. He discovered a new toy...the mirror! He also managed to get in a good two and a half hour nap, getting closer to mom's goal of getting him on a regular schedule. See, staying home is paying off for everyone!

Day 94

Colton is growing very sick of this ultra-hot weather, as it once again forced him inside for the day. He did get to go out to breakfast with mom and dad in the morning before it got too hot, but then it was home again for the day. Grandma and Grandpa stopped by for a visit, and Colton showed his appreciation by giggling the whole way through. After dinner, Colton did get out once more for a quick stop at the Skinny Dip for some frozen yogurt, but then it was back home for the night!

Day 93

WOW!!! Colton is officially three months old today! We can see so many signs of his growth: he can now roll over, he is officially sleeping through the night, he is starting to grab at toys that are in front of him, he can sit up with support behind him, he recognizes mom's voice and face (and maybe dad's too) and smiles at it, and of course there is that growing belly that has outgrown many of his clothes. It is amazing how time flies, but we are certainly enjoying every second with our little guy.

To celebrate his birthday, Colton stayed inside for most of the day to avoid the warm weather. He watched the World Cup soccer game and then headed over to Meme and Papa's house to go house-hunting with them. After house hunting, it was out to dinner at Hot Tuna and then on to the boat to hang out for a bit.

Day 92

Colton enjoyed a wonderful summer day today! He started it off at the JCC, where the ladies in the babysitting room once again oohed and aahed over him. After going home for a quick snack, he stopped by to see dad at work, picked up a smoothie, and then headed to Meme and Papa's house for a swim. Mom had been nice enough to get him his own float so that he could chill in the pool in shade. The float is going to take some getting used to, but he had some fun in it for today! Once dad got home from work, it out to dinner at Wild Wing (where else?) and then home to relax on the back porch. Colton is really starting to love this summer thing:)

Day 91

With temperatures forecasted to be 100 degrees today in Virginia Beach, Colton decided to spend his day inside with mom. He, of course, made his obligatory trip to the JCC and then his favorite place, Target, to stock up on a float for his next pool day, but then it was home to relax for the day. The day was not a total loss, though. Colton and mom worked really hard on him learning to grab at toys and towards the end, he was even starting to do it! He also spent more time on his mat, playing on his tummy and back. Colton even got a surprise visit from his grandmother who stopped by to get a DVD but spent a few minutes playing with him. At night, when the temperatures had cooled off slightly, Colton took Chipper on a walk with the whole family and then settled in for the evening.
Here are some more videos as promised. These are from the first few moments and days of Colton's life:)

Day 90

Now that it is officially summer, Colton has joined his mom and Meme at the pool. It turns out he is quite the water baby. He was totally content in the water, letting mom and Meme take turns holding him. He even floated on his back for a little bit (ok...he was held, but still, he was completely relaxed while he was held). At the end of the day, he was feeling a little rebellious and even went for a quick skinny dip in the pool:) I think we may have a swimmer on our hands in a few years, just like his mommy!!!
PS: I think I have finally figured out how to upload videos so you all can see them. Click here and let me know if it works. If so, I have plenty of other fun ones to watch:)

Day 89

AAAHHH...back to how life is supposed to be. Mom was back home with Colton now that the school year is officially over and he was quite relieved to be back on his normal schedule. He started the day off with his trip to the JCC...a few people there even commented on how much he had grown in his week's absence! Afterwards, it was off to the grocery store and then back home for the day to avoid the ridiculous heat. No fear, though, Colton enjoyed his day in with mom, having his tummy time (he can hold his head up really high now!), getting read to, making dinner, and watching tv. Overall, it was a fantastic day and further confirmation that mom needs to stay home next year!

Monday, June 21, 2010

Day 88

Today was mom's last day of school (hopefully for quite some time), so Colton once again spent his day over at Meme's house. He accompanied her while she ran her Monday errands, including a stop at TJ Maxx, of course. Mom was so happy to pick him up, though, and bring him back home to go out to a celebratory dinner with dad. Now, on to figuring out this stay at home thing, hopefully, so mom can spend all next year with Colton:)

Sunday, June 20, 2010

Day 87

Colton celebrated his first Father's Day today, or at least gave dad a reason to celebrate his first Father's Day! He started the day off by giving dad his presents: some golf balls and a watch. Afterwards, he took a nice long nap because he knew his afternoon was going to be busy, and that it was. His whole family (well, at least everyone that lives in Virginia Beach) came over for a cookout. Colton handled it very well, being passed from relative to relative and even managed to show off his rolling over for everyone. He only wished his Papa Sr. could have been here to celebrate with him too:)

Saturday, June 19, 2010

Day 86

Colton started off his day with a nice walk at Mt. Trashmore with mom and Chipper while dad went in to work for a little bit. Once dad finally got home, Colton went out for a nice lunch with mom and dad at Watermans where he really enjoyed the views of the beach. After lunch, he made a quick stop at WRV where he did manage to find an adorable WRV onesie to sport in a few months:) Wiped out, he headed home to rest up and later met mom's friend Kristina out for dinnner to celebrate her birthday. It was a busy day for the little man, but he did manage to catch some zzz's with his big brother by his side:)

Friday, June 18, 2010

Day 85

Colton once again spent his day away from mom (who had to work again) and with his Meme and Papa. They took him down to the Boardwalk Art Show and off for a lunch at Big Sam's. After mom picked him, up, they headed home to wait for dad to arrive. The family had a nice dinner at Outback and then spent the evening at home relaxing.

Thursday, June 17, 2010

Day 84

Mom had to work again today (boo!), but this time, Dad did too, so Colton was off to spend the day with his Meme and Papa. They had a blast with Colton, playing with him in his seat and on the floor and taking him all around the city on some errands! Meme reported that Colton was really, really close to rolling over and sure enough, when he got home, he managed to roll over twice on his own mat. In fact, his picture from today is right after his second successful roll over of the evening...notice how proud/exhausted he looks; it took a lot of work! Unfortunately, his moment of glory was ruined a couple seconds laster when his brother dropped his toy (a hard plastic one at that) on top of the triumphant Colton and loud screaming ensued!!!

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Day 83

Colton spent the day with his dad today, as mom had to return to work for a few days. Unfortunately, I do not know much of what they did (further evidence that a career as a stay-at-home-mom is becoming a necessity for our family), but they did travel to pay a visit to Colton's great grandparents. When mom did get home, Colton seemed happy and well taken care of! He swung in his swing during the major thunderstorm and bounced happily in his seat while mom and dad ate dinner.

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Day 82

Colton spent his day in what has become routine fashion: sleeping in for the morning, hitting the JCC with mom, and then off to run a few errands before going home to relax for the afternoon. Today's trip was bittersweet, though, as Mom has to go back to school tomorrow (for only 4 days), so Colton will have to spend the next few days with others: tomorrow with Dad and then the rest with Meme and Papa Jr. The errands were also bittersweet as Colton spent most of his time out thinking of his Papa Sr. who lost a dear friend today. Colton (and mom) know how lucky they are to still have Papa Sr. with them and are eagerly awaiting a trip to Florida to see him. Papa, we love you and are thinking about you

Monday, June 14, 2010

Day 81

Colton slept all the way until 6:45 this morning (YAY) . Once awake, it was off to the JCC with mom. Because it was another hot day, Colton had to skip his walk date with Savannah and mom's friend Katie, but did manage to meet them for a Mexican lunch, Colton's first official date:) He smiled at mom and Savannah the entire lunch and had a great time with all the ladies. After lunch, Colton and mom headed home to spend the day inside with Chipper and get ready for another long sleep night (hopefully)

Sunday, June 13, 2010

Day 80

Another really hot day meant another day kept mainly indoors for Colton. After laying around in bed with the whole family, Colton spent a little time outside on a walk with mom and Chipper while dad cut the grass. Later on, he went to the Farmer's Market with mom and dad to look around. But other than that, poor Colton was kept indoors. He didn't seem to mind as he spent his day eating, napping, playing with his favorite toys: his hands, and getting better and better at lifting his head up on his mat.

Saturday, June 12, 2010

Day 79

Colton had to get an early start this Saturday morning to take his daddy to work. After he got home, he rested for a bit before going back to pick up dad around noon, grab a quick lunch out with mom and dad, and then finally take dad to pick up his freshly inspected car. For the evening, mom and dad had the idea to attend Harborfest. Unfortunately, temperatures near 100 degrees made it seem like a bad idea to take Colton along, so he went to spend the evening with his grandparents (Hobbs) while mom and dad got a long awaited date night.

Friday, June 11, 2010

Day 78

Colton had a lazy 11-week birthday Friday. After sleeping in a little, he went to the JCC with mom but then was home for the rest of the day. Luckily, he was able to save up his energy because his nighttime was busy taking dad's car to the dealership for some work and then meeting Uncle Jordan and (future) Aunt Stephanie at Finn McCool's for a birthday celebration. Afterwards, Jordan and Stephanie brought their puppy, Mojo (who happens to be just one week older than Colton!) over to meet Chipper. Colton had a really good time watching the two crazy puppies play together and even made a new friend with Mojo:)

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Day 77

Colton went on a tour of schools today after visiting the JCC in the morning. First it was off to mom's school, where she had to sign her contract for next year. After having a slight meltdown over signing it, though, mom has determined she HAS to find a way to stay home with the little man next year. Luckily, everyone at school was supprotive and understanding, so hopefully it will work out! After leaving Taylor, Colton headed to grandma's school where she had requested one last visit before her retirement in just one more week. Between both schools(and the JCC), everyone repeatedly commented on how handsome and alert Colton is and how lucky we are to have him, which mom, of course agreed with wholeheartedly!

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Day 76

Colton woke up right on time today (yay for four nights in a row of sleeping through the night; maybe we are actually there now!) and was off to the JCC like usual. Afterwards he hit the mall with mom to do some Father's Day shopping (and some mom shopping). He got a nice surprise when Meme decided to join us at the mall. He must have been really enjoying his mall trip because he stayed awake for the whole thing. When he got home, then, it was time for his first official "nap." Mom is trying to get Colton into a routine, so she put him in his crib at about 2pm, and he promptly fell asleep until 4 (and even had to be woken up then). After the nap, it was off to dinner at AJ Gators and then home for some more playtime before his nightly bath, bottle, book, and then bed.

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

Day 75

Colton spent the day with mom in typical fashion: going to the JCC and then to run errands. He did manage to give mom a tremendous surprise while out shopping though: Colton's first giggle, and honestly, it has to be the cutest thing ever. Mom spent the remainder of the shopping trip, and day for that matter, trying to illicit more and more giggles, and when dad got home from work, he tried the same thing. Luckily, Colton obliged a few times:) Aside from the fun with giggling, Colton also surprised Chipper with a trip to the dog park today, his first since the family moved in February. Colton was a good sport at the park, letting the dogs lick his feet and watching Chipper play and sniff. In general, it was a fantastic day:)

Monday, June 7, 2010

Day 74

Colton awoke from a wonderful night sleep (yay...two in a row) and joined mom for the usual trip to the JCC. After getting home, it was time for a visit from Aunt Genna as she headed back to Northern Virginia. Once Aunt Genna left, Colton ran a couple of errands with mom before going back home to relax for the afternoon and wait for dad to get home.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Day 73

Colton woke up to a nice surprise this morning: not only was it 7AM (yes, he slept until 7AM...that partying must have worn him out), but Aunt Genna was here to play with him as she had spent the night. After playing with her, Colton was off to meet Meme and Papa to go out on the boat for the first time. He had the perfect outfit, courtesy of Aunt Erin, and loved being on the boat. Truthfully, he slept for the whole boat ride down on the bed in the cabin and even managed to hide out while Papa had a near "incident" while parking the boat, but he is looking forward to the day when he is being pulled on a tube behind the boat! After a day on the water, it was out to dinner with Mom and Dad and then home to get ready for another busy week, hopefully filled with plenty of sleeping through the night nights.

Saturday, June 5, 2010

Days 71 and 72

Colton spent his 10 week birthday working really hard with mom to get ready for his housewarming/meet Colton party on Saturday. He helped mom clean, cook, and set up all day Friday and Saturday morning. Colton was very excited, though, when guests began to arrive and he got to meet so many people. He slept through the first part of the party, but was up for the later part to entertain his guests with cute noises and smiles. He had a lot of fun and already can't wait for his next party!

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Day 70!!!

I guess time really does fly when you're having fun...I can't believe our sweet baby boy has been with us for 70 days! Josh and I both marvel daily at how blessed we are to have this handsome, healthy, happy child in our lives. He brings us (and our families) pure joy...holding him, kissing him, watching for one of those heart-tugging smiles. We can't wait to see just how our little boy will continue to grow over the next 70 days (and beyond).
Colton spent his 70th day getting ready for his party some more. Today involved cleaning (well, Colton slept while mom cleaned; in fact, he even managed to sleep through Chipper barking hysterically at the vacuum cleaner!) and going to the grocery store and Party City for supplies.

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Day 69

Colton spent his morning in typical fashion: at the JCC. He got a compliment on his wonderful sense of fashion and how well-dressed he is each day...mom was very proud! After leaving the JCC Colton began getting ready for his big party this weekend. He has invited everyone over to the house to see it and him, so today he helped mom pick out some more stuff for the patio and then clean the old furniture. After all that hard work, he spent some time on his play mat, where he is now able to hold his chest off the floor, almost like superbaby!

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

Day 68

Colton and mom had a busy day of errands to kick off his first June! After going to the JCC in the morning, it was off to the grocery store, Target, One Hour, and Babies R Us to get a monitor for Colton's room. The monitor is actually really cool and mom is fascinated with watching Colotn in his crib via the monitor...too bad he seems to have forgotten how to sleep through the night (hopefully temporarily). Anyhow, Colton was up and smiley for the vast majority of the day and is proving to be a wonderful shopping companion for mom!
