April 30, 2012

Colton and Levi started off their day at jcc but then had to get home to meet nene who was coming over to stay with them for a bit while mom took her car in for service. Without a car, the boys were stuck at home for the day and spent lots of time outside together. In the afternoon, gigi came over to stay with the boys so mom could pick up the car. Once dad got home everyone ate dinner, played, and watched some sesame street.

April 27-29, 2012

Colton and Levi enjoyed a pretty low-key weekend.  On Friday, they had a nice day out at the aquarium, park, and lunch.  At night, Levi went to his grandparents house for a couple of hours since they wanted to see him for a bit.  Meanwhile, Colton joined the Kletz family for dinner at Zia Maries and thoroughly enjoyed all the celebrating.  Satruday was spent running a couple of errands with mom and dad and making a trip to the park where Levi had his first swinging experience.  The boys spent their evening with Gigi who was nice enough to come over and babysit so mom and dad could have a night out.  Sunday was another lazy day spent hanging out around the house.  The boys did get out for dinner at Friday's, but that was about the only excitement of the day!

April 26, 2012

Colton began his day at school.  Meanwhile, Levi was busy entertaining mom with his giggle and rolling over abilities.  Once the school day was done, Colton headed across the building to his swim lesson.  Mom hid this time and Colton did a pretty good job participating, although we still think it may take a couple more sessions before our routine-oriented boy is comfortable.  After the lesson, both boys headed home for some much-needed nap time and then woke up to play, eat some dinner,  and take their baths.

April 25, 2012

Colton and Levi started their day off as usual with their trip to the JCC and then took advantage of the nice weather with a trip to the park.  At night, dad was finally feeling better so the family made a group trip to the Skinny Dip after dinner.  As a note about the pictures, Colton's is actually from a few days ago when he was insistent that he wear his Pirates hat (courtesy of Uncle Ryan/Aunt KC) for breakfast, and while Levi's may seem unremarkable, it was actually taken a couple seconds after he managed to roll himself over to his belly, a feat he has been accomplishing quite regularly these days!  And to add to Levi's new tricks he officially had his first giggles today...very cute indeed!

April 24, 2012

Colton started off his day at school, while Levi spent the time hanging out with mom.  Once Colton was picked up, the boys returned to the house for some much-needed outdoor play time!  For dinner, the boys joined mom at Moe's for dinner while dad stayed home recovering from his illness.  Colton was such a big boy at dinner, sitting on his own side of the booth and eating and drinking without any help!

April 23, 2012

Colton and Levi were good sports today as they accompanied mom on the weekly errand run.  In fairness, we think both boys were so eager to get out of the house after being cooped up inside all day yesterday that they seemed to even be a little excited to visit the Teeter and Target (well Colton was excited...Levi still doesn't show much range of emotion!).  After they were done, they spent the rest of the day hanging out at home playing and watching some tv.  Luckily, Levi seems to be quite fascinated by his brother these days, whose antics provide him with plenty of entertainment.

April 22, 2012

With it being a nasty, rainy day in Va. Beach, Colton and Levi spent their entire day inside in their pjs!  Levi did use his excessive indoor time to try out his bouncy chair for the first time.  He didn't quite figure out how to use the chair but did enjoy the new perspective.  By the end of the day, Colton and mom were both really antsy and had to get out of the house for a little date at the Skinny Dip.

April 20-21, 2012

Colton and Levi have been busy running errands with mom the last couple of days (lucky them, huh?).  On Friday, they hit the mall, got some new clothes, and then came home to rest up for the night.  For dinner, they joined mom, dad, Gigi, and Jimmy for dinner at Luna Maya.  On Saturday, dad was busy golfing so the boys joined mom for some shopping before meeting Gigi and Aunt KC for lunch at Town Center.  After lunch, Uncle Ryan was nice enough to meet the boys at the house to watch them so that mom could join the ladies for pedicures.  At night, the boys headed to Wild Wing for dinner.

April 19, 2012

Today was a big day in our house. After Colton's morning school day (and mom and Levi's trip to Target), Colton began swim lessons. He was a little hesitant (ok maybe a lot) to leave mom at first, but once she hid, he was very eager to show off his bubbles, kicking, and jumping. He is a little younger than the other kids in the class (it's for 2-3 year olds, and they are much closer to 3), but he seemed to keep up and follow directions appropriately! At night, he had another big first....one that dad was a little more excited about. Colton caught...like legitimately caught...a ball for the first time...and then again for the second time. Dad is convinced this is a story we will have to share with reporters one day when Colton is a famous athlete, especially after googling and finding out that children normally learn to catch around 3-4! Through all the excitement, Levi was a very good boy as usual. He has become such a sweet, happy baby, smiling frequently and rarely crying. It also helps that he seems to have finally learned to take naps (although we've probably just jinxed it!).

April 18, 2012

Colton and Levi got to the JCC quickly this morning while Nene was nice enough to go get in line at the passport office.  When she gave the call, though, that they were #2 in line, the boys made their way over, posed for their pictures, and officially applied for their passports (yay!  Atlantis here we come!).  Afterwards, the boys came home where Colton had a very good time playing with his new train table and Levi entertained mom with his very cute smiles and giggles.

April 17, 2012

After sleeping 10 straight hours last night (!), Levi woke up eager to take on the day as did his brother who was very excited to return to school today!  While Colton was there, Levi kept mom company while she did some cleaning.  Once they picked Colton up, the boys made a quick Home Depot trip with mom and then came home for play time, nap time, and then dinner with dad once he got home.

April 16, 2012

After their morning trip to the jcc, Colton and Levi headed over to nene's house for a beach day. It was a bit windy though, so Levi stayed at the house with nene and Colton came up after a little bit to play in the "bubbles" (hot tub). The rest of the day was spent at home.

April 14-15, 2012

Colton and Levi had a relatively low-key weekend, especially considering how busy the last few have been!  On Saturday, they did a little shopping with mom and Gigi while dad was working the job fair.  At night, they met Uncle Jordan and Aunt Stephanie out for dinner at Gordon Biersch.
On Sunday, they went out for breakfast at the Broken Egg before coming home for some play time in the yard, taking advantage of the gorgeous day!  At night, the joined mom and dad for some dinner at Outback.

April 13, 2012

Colton and Levi were treated to a day at the zoo today with their friends Landon and Patrick. As usual, Colton was totally enamored with Patrick, holding his hand throughout the zoo (except for his occasional run sessions), while Levi seemed to be very fond of Quiana, snuggling up to her throughout the zoo. Both boys seemed to enjoy the zoo, but were especially excited to ride the "choo-choo" and insisted on doing so before going home. At night, the boys joined mom, dad, and Gigi for dinner at Wild Wing.

April 12, 2012

With both boys sleeping in until about 7:20, everyone awoke in an excellent mood ready to take on the day (especially mom who was very grateful to get to watch a few minutes of the "Today" Show!!!).  Colton and Levi started off their day at the JCC and then headed to the One Hour office to get dad so that they could go get their passports.  Unfortunately, the passport office had a crazy long wait (2 1/2 hours!!!), so they skipped that for today and went to Barnes and Noble instead where Colton was very excited to get to play with the train table (good thing his own is on its way!).  Afterwards, they came home, both took a good nap (!!!...again Mom was very grateful), and then settled in for the night.

April 11, 2012

Levi and Colton started their day off at the JCC as usual.  While Levi was in a happy mood as usual, Colton was quite the pisspot presumably from his lack of sleep the last few days.  Since they were at the JCC, mom decided to take Colton swimming (he officially starts his swim lessons next week) which did temporarily put him in a better mood.  After swimming, the boys ran a couple of quick errands with mom before heading home for the afternoon.  Something must have really worn Colton out though because he took a super long nap, and we are very happy to report his brother actually took one as well...in his crib...at naptime!!!!  Colton was in a 10million times better mood when he woke up and enjoyed playing with his brother.

April 10, 2012

After hitting the JCC and the typical weekly errand run (Target and the Teeter), mom figured the boys deserved some fun time, so they headed to the park down the street for a bit.  Although he scared the poo out of mom, Colton refused any help ("no mama, no") and proved to be quite the climber.  Levi isn't exactly climbing yet, but he is having his own fun grabbing at toys and talking to them.

April 9, 2012

Colton and Levi were both super good sports today as they headed to Richmond for a shopping trip with mom and Gigi.  Both boys did a good job, but were certainly happy to stretch out their legs when given the chance!  As a special thank you, Gigi was nice enough to treat Colton to his first Build a Bear.  Once home, both Levi and Colton had a good time playing...and wanted nothing to do with the car for quite some time (or until tomorrow!).

April 7-8, 2012

Happy Easter!  Colton and Levi were busy spending time with their Nene and Papa yesterday who were kind enough to watch the boys some mom and dad could have a date day.  But have no fear, they were back with mom and dad and up and at 'em nice and early (well 7, which is pretty exciting around here...at least for Levi who we dare say is now safely sleeping through the night!!!) to look through their baskets.  After that excitement, they headed down to the beach for some breakfast at Doc Taylor's (after a quick drive by of the plane crash site, which was pretty unbelievable!) and the Easter Extravaganza at Neptune Park.  Judging by his crazy runny nose, we think Colton may have been feeling slightly under the weather but he certainly was good to go for the egg hunt, petting zoo, and playground. Meanwhile, Levi pretty much slept through the whole thing...oh well, maybe next year!  At night, the boys headed over to their grandmother's house for some spaghetti and ice cream.
