Day 229

Colton got another glowing report from the babysitter today, who is now convinced his bad mood last week was a result of his latest two teeth coming in. She was also proud to report that Colton successfully held his bottle...I'm telling you, he's a really quick learner! Once home, Colton had another big first...his first real bath not using his baby bath tub. Mom decided it was better to practice at home for the first time instead of when we arrive in Florida later this week (YAY!) and luckily Colton LOVED it. He was a little scared at first, but once he figured it out, he was splashing away

Day 228

Although Colton spent the bulk of his day at home, it was quite the productive day. He did not understand the concept of Daylight Savings Time, so he woke promptly at 5:30. However, after that, he was able to accomplish a couple things: 1. Colton is now standing. He can pull himself up to his knees with ease, but has only managed to pull himself all the way up a couple of times. When he is helped up, though, he can hold on and stand for a long time! 2. Colton finally figured out his sippy cup. Mom and dad have been giving it to him every night for awhile now, but it to this point, has just ended up being thrown to the floor repeatedly (fun game!). Tonight, Colton held it all by himslef and brought it up to his mouth for some lovely sips of apple juice...YAY!

Day 227

Hard to believe, but today was Colton's last football tailgate and game of the season. At least the weather seemed to respond as it was easily the coldest day young Colton has ever experienced! Luckily, he had his winter coat ready thanks to Meme and Papa, and an ODU hat ready thanks to the Moorheads (spoiled, spoiled baby!!!). Colton enjoyed the tailgate, game, and then dinner at No Frill with mom and dad on the way home. Once home, Colton played with everyone before turning in for the night.

Day 226

TGIF!!! Colton was very excited to leave the babysitter, who reported happily that he was back to his normal, cheerful self, and head home with mom for a weekend. He joined mom and dad for a nice dinner out at Maninos, where he was fantastic, especially considering it was well past his bedtime. Mom and dad knew it was time to go when baby boy pathetically tried to lay down and fall asleep in the high chair to no avail, but at least he never got fussy!

Day 224 and 225

Colton has been a busy baby, getting his way around the house with increasing speed and slowly getting back to his normal, good mood self! Last night, he was suprised with a visit by his great grandparents and Judy before going out to dinner with mom and dad quickly. Today, he came home to play with mom, dad, Chipper, and Chipper's toys before going to bed.

Day 223

Colton was not in a very good mood today, according to the babysitters anyway...hmmm, I guess everyone is entitled to a bad day every once in a while! After he was picked up, he had to join mom at the vet to pick up Chipper from his haircut and checkup. When home, he seemed to be in an ok mood, especially as he played with Chipper's water bowl.

Day 222

Colton was very excited that mom had decided to take today off, but was a little disappointed at how busy the day ended up being. He started the day off with his flu shot appointment. The only good thing is that he got to get weighed and now weighs in at a whopping 16 pounds, 12 ounces!!! After the shot, Colton took a short nap before joining mom at the grocery store. He happily played with Sophie while she shopped:) Then, it was over to Meme's while mom went and got her fillings done. Finally, Colton was able to come home and do what he had wanted to do all day: crawl and play. He is getting quite fast, able to dig his little hands into Chipper's water bowl, pull lamps off tables, and get stuck under his highchair in just a matter of minutes! In fact, here is a long-awaited video of Colton crawling: just click here
