Levi: Month 7

Happy 7 months to our sweet Levi Shane!  This month has been a big one for our boy.  At 7 months, Levi:

• is officially off and crawling, managing to get into anything he wants to
• is pulling up on to his knees...and even managed to get totally standing up once
• is putting anything and everything in his mouth...now that he can crawl, nothing is safe!
• babbles and even said "dada" once
• loves to eat.  He's even tried a few "real foods" including eggs, bread, french toast, french fries, mashed potatoes and refried beans.
• got his first two teeth...we're thinking he's working on the top 2 now based on the insane amount of drool lately!
• is a very happy and easy baby...how did we get so lucky?!?

August 2-3, 2012

The boys were pretty busy yesterday getting ready for Ry and C's big gender reveal party.  They helped with all the decorating and food during the day and then at night were there for the big moment.  While Colton was clearly more excited about the cupcake than the actual filling, we are happy to report that it was indeed pink and there will finally be a little girl in our family:)
On Friday, Colton headed back to camp while Levi joined mom for some shopping.  At night, the boys went to Wild Wing with mom and dad and their grandparents.

August 1, 2012

Since Colton was running a fever yesterday , we knew he would be staying home from camp today and taking it easy.  Luckily, his fever seemed to stay away for the day, hovering around 99 but never going back up (and considering he's in his room playing basketball as we speak, I'm thinking he's feeling pretty good!).  Gigi was nice enough to come over and stay home with Colton while mom and Levi snuck in a gym trip and quick errand.  Colton did get to leave the house quickly, though, to get some Skinny Dip (that's what you're supposed to have when you're sick, right?).  As for pictures, Levi's is the view of him when waking up from his nap...now that the boy is mobile, he was caught trying to pull up on his crib and finally landed in the sitting position.  Colton's is a video showing off his very special talent of animal noises.

July 31, 2012

Colton and Levi planned to have a day at the beach today with Nene, Gigi, and some friends.  They got out there, played in the sand, and even flew a kite...and then the clouds came rolling in and it was time to flee to the house.  After spending some time up there, Nene mentioned that she thought Colton felt warm so the boys left with mom and got home to confirm that Colton did indeed have a fever (101.4 to be exact!).  With medicine in his body, he seemed to be feeling much better over the course of the night, and as of bedtime, had no fever left, so fingers crossed he's already on the mend.  Also, fingers crossed that Levi will not follow in his footsteps, although he already seemed to inherit the runny nose that was the fever's precursor!

July 30, 2012

The weekend must have really worn out the boys as both of them needed to be woken up after 8AM!  Once up, though, they both got off to quick starts and Colton seemed eager to get to camp.  While he was there, Levi joined mom for the typical Monday errands and finished up just in time to go back to pick up Colton (who was walking out hand and hand with his new "girlfriend").  The rest of the day was spent relaxing at home, with Levi really enjoying his new crawling hobby.

July 28-29, 2012

Colton and Levi spent their weekend with Ry and C (and C's sister Liz and her friend) who were nice enough to watch the boys so mom and dad could get away for a night.  On Sunday, the boys headed over to Nene and Papa's house for some beach time.  It was there they were reunited with Chipper (who had spent the night there) and then mom and dad.  Levi left with dad, while Colton stayed for some beach time with mom.  At night, the boys were surprised to see Ry, C, Liz, Liz's friend...and Gigi and Jimmy at dinner at Wild Wing.  But the real highlight of the weekend was this:

Yep...that's Levi on the move!  He's officially off and crawling...

July 26-27, 2012

Colton and Levi have been trying hard to beat the crazy hot weather the last couple of days.  On Thursday, they spent a couple of hours at the pool with mom and then spent their evening with dad while mom hosted a girls' night at the house.
Once Colton was done with camp on Friday, he came home to taste his very first root beer float...he was definitely a fan (as was Levi!).  At night, they joined everyone for dinner at Zia Maries for Aunt KC and Jimmy's birthday celebrations.
