The last couple days have been a bit touch-and-go for the boys, namely Colton. Colton spent Friday morning at school, while Levi joined mom for some errands, including a stop at Old Navy where a very nice man surprised him with a gift of superhero stickers at checkout (he was standing in front of us, and secretly bought the stickers for V, saying he remembered when his sons were that age...so nice! especially since Levi has held on to those stickers tight since, even sleeping with them!). After school and errands, the boys came home and made some cinnamon ornaments with mom...and spilled lots of cinnamon all over the kitchen. Colton decided to skip his nap, and that's where our problems seemed to start because he crashed big time around 4:30. He insisted on going out to dinner, though, and mom and dad kind of thought he would get over it, so the family headed out to Wild Wing to meet Gigi, Jennifer, and Gregg...but he didn't rebound, and so we turned around pretty much as soon as we got there. In fairness, Colton fell asleep on the way home and slept straight through until the 7 the next morning, so clearly he was exhausted!
On Saturday, the boys woke up excited to find that Buddy (their elf) had left some doughntus for breakfast! Colton and Levi hung out with dad for the morning while mom set up a party. When mom got home, the family was about to head out the door to visit Mamaw when mom noticed Colton was warm...and lo and behold, he indeed had a fever, so mom stayed home with him while dad and Levi went to visit. After good naps, everyone seemed to be on the mend, but mom and dad didn't want to risk another failed night out, so we decided to stay in for the night. All was not lost, though, as everyone huddled on the couch to watch "The Grinch."
