July 16, 2012

Well, today was another eventful day for the boys.  Colton started off his day by heading off for his first day of summer camp!  He was pretty excited to get to his room, especially once he saw the slide, choo-choos, and his bathing suit for the pool.  After dropping him off, Levi and mom hit the road for a trip to Target, but then had an unexpected detour after getting in a car accident (no major damage to us or our vehicle...and TOTALLY not our fault!) and spending the next 40 minutes or so waiting on the side of the road.  At least, the nice police officer was impressed at Levi's advanced sitting abilities for a 6-month old.  Once Colton was picked back up (and in a very good mood!), everyone headed home to rest up.  At night, the boys joined mom and dad and the One Hour people for a baseball game (Levi's first).

July 14-15, 2012

Our happy boys started off Saturday planning to meet mom's friend at the beach.  But their day was thrown for a major tailspin when a stop for lunch ended with mom's car being towed and the boys being stuck at the restaurant until dad and Uncle Ryan could show up with the car.  Levi handled it incredibly, while Colton was a bit more temperamental...and all were VERY happy to get out of there!  After calming down at home for the rest of the day, Colton and Levi were excited to meet Nene and Papa for dinner at Havana.
After the excitement Saturday, the boys were eager to have a much more low-key Sunday.  They joined mom and dad for breakfast at Broken Egg in the morning and then came home to work and play in the backyard.  Later, they joined mom and dad for dinner at Max and Erma's where they were both on their best behavior.
And for 3 Levi developments over the weekend:
1.  He now has a second tooth.  Nene spotted it first on Saturday night and it was definitely confirmed as poking through right next to his other one!
2.  When Levi is old enough to share kids meals with Colton, we will no longer have a wasted food problem!  Levi already did major work on Colton's scrambled eggs and applesauce!
3.  Levi has become quite the happy baby.  He giggles constantly (usually at Colton) and pretty much always has a smile on his sweet face.

Colton and Levi spent a fun day at the Botanical Gardens where they had fun playing on the sand mountain and in the fountains.  To add to the fun, on the way there, the boys even spotted Air Force One hovering over the highway as they exited!  At night, Colton and Levi joined mom and dad for some Mexican (uh oh...dad may be establishing a new pattern).

July 12, 2012

Colton and Levi were excited to see a bit of sunshine again today and promptly hit the pool to celebrate.  Mom's friend Kristina joined them there for a bit and the boys both had a really good time playing with her (and mom!).  The rest of the day was spent at home...with Colton practicing his bike riding and Levi working really hard on his crawling (it won't be long now!).

July 11, 2012

Even though rain cancelled the boys' plans for today, they were happy to change them up and head to the Virginia Beach Field House for some play time.  Colton was quite the trooper, holding his own and climbing with the 40+ 6-8 year olds that were there when we got there.  Our boy even impressed the camp counselors who were there.  And Levi...well, Levi was as happy as always just watching his big brother.  At night, the boys hung out with their dad for a bit so mom could go out with some friends.

July 10, 2012

The goal today was to run a couple quick errands, but the crazy thunderstorm kept Colton and Levi out a bit longer than anticipated as the boys got stuck in Best Buy with mom and ended up having to kill some time there.  Once home, the boys were anxious to dry out and then Colton got to work painting a t-shirt (one of the items on our summer bucket list).  Levi bounced happily watching him unitl mom took him out...and noticed that his first tooth has popped through!!!!  The boys had a blast playing with each other the rest of the day and are definitely becoming good buddies.

July 9, 2012

Seeing as it was Monday, Colton and Levi schlepped through their regular errands with mom.  At least Levi seems to be much happier doing these now that he gets to sit up front like a big boy (and Colton seems to be enjoying sitting with the food/eating the groceries).
