December 18, 2013
Today was an exciting day for the boys. Levi headed off to school, while Colton did as well, but mom, dad, Nene, and Gigi joined him there to watch his big winter show. Once again, our boy was quite the "star" and did a great job singing loud and proud! After school, the boys were excited to see that Gigi was over for some play time. They took their naps, and then headed across the street to play with their friend Grayson and her new play set. But the real highlight of the day was at night when they went to the Polar Express at the Botanical Gardens. There they got cookies and hot chocolate, listened to the story of the Polar Express, and then got to board the train for a ride though the lights.

Another day, another set of health issues around here...or so it seems! Today, Colton woke up with a pretty nasty tummy...the result of his antibiotic we think. Everyone took it easy, then, until it was time for mom to go to the doctor. Luckily, by then Colton seemed to be doing much better and the boys spent the time with Nene while mom made it through her appointment. They were at the park when she was done, so they played a bit there before picking up some lunch to bring to dad's office. After running a couple more errands (including a stop at the doctor's office to pick up some probiotics for Colty where the nurse confirmed earlier suspicions that colty also has Fifths Disease on top of all his other ailments...super!), the boys came home and spent some time riding bikes, powerwheels, and scooters outside before taking naps.

December 15, 2013
Well, our weekend woes continued this morning as mom and Colton started out their day at the doctor's office after mom had the epiphany last night that we had never taken Colton back to confirm his ear infection from a few weeks ago had cleared up. Lo and behold, it actually had not (which made mom feel much better because she was pretty stressed about what would keep prompting Colton's fevers), so hopefully we will finally be on the mend! Fingers crossed big time!
The doctor said colton was not at all contagious and he was very eager to go to one of his best friend's, Spencer's, birthday party at the zoo, so he and mom headed out there. Colton had a blast petting a chinchilla and hedgehog (although he said "no thank you" to the snake) and playing with all his buddies, and then came home to take a much-needed nap. The boys actually had another birthday party scheduled for later in the afternoon, but we decided it was best for Colty to just take it easy (this one was at a bounce house) so the family got some dinner at Wild Wing and then came home to call it a night.

December 13-14, 2013
The last couple days have been a bit touch-and-go for the boys, namely Colton. Colton spent Friday morning at school, while Levi joined mom for some errands, including a stop at Old Navy where a very nice man surprised him with a gift of superhero stickers at checkout (he was standing in front of us, and secretly bought the stickers for V, saying he remembered when his sons were that age...so nice! especially since Levi has held on to those stickers tight since, even sleeping with them!). After school and errands, the boys came home and made some cinnamon ornaments with mom...and spilled lots of cinnamon all over the kitchen. Colton decided to skip his nap, and that's where our problems seemed to start because he crashed big time around 4:30. He insisted on going out to dinner, though, and mom and dad kind of thought he would get over it, so the family headed out to Wild Wing to meet Gigi, Jennifer, and Gregg...but he didn't rebound, and so we turned around pretty much as soon as we got there. In fairness, Colton fell asleep on the way home and slept straight through until the 7 the next morning, so clearly he was exhausted!
On Saturday, the boys woke up excited to find that Buddy (their elf) had left some doughntus for breakfast! Colton and Levi hung out with dad for the morning while mom set up a party. When mom got home, the family was about to head out the door to visit Mamaw when mom noticed Colton was warm...and lo and behold, he indeed had a fever, so mom stayed home with him while dad and Levi went to visit. After good naps, everyone seemed to be on the mend, but mom and dad didn't want to risk another failed night out, so we decided to stay in for the night. All was not lost, though, as everyone huddled on the couch to watch "The Grinch."

The boys spent their mornings at school, although Colton got a welcome treat when Mom and Nene showed up to teach his class about Hanukkah. He left with them and joined mom for lunch at Moe's before going to get V. After dinner, Colton and Levi were excited to go see the holiday train display.

With everyone feeling better (hopefully for good this time!), the boys spent their morning playing with friends at the Sportsplex. After naps, Colton and Levi had quite the productive evening. First, they went with mom and dad to pick out their tree and then after the nice man from the tree lot delivered it to their house, they got some dinner at AJ Gators (colton's pick). With full bellies, they made a pit stop to see the "cool lights" down the street and then came home to decorate their tree.

December 9, 2013
With a bit of a stomach bug plaguing mom and Colton, they hung out at home for the morning while Levi was off at school. Colton seems to have recovered (although we thought the same thing this weekend) well, and was eager to play with V-V once he was home. After naps, the boys "wrote" their letters to Santa and took it easy for the rest of the night.
